Free Printable Birthday Party Games for Kids

Planning a kids birthday party does not need to cost a fortune or take a week of prep. Some of the best party games only need paper, scissors and a group of excited kids. Here are our favorite printable party games, plus a free pack you can download and print today.

What makes a good party game for young kids

The games that actually work at parties for ages 4 to 10 share three things. They need almost no explanation, every child can join at the same time, and a round finishes in a few minutes so nobody waits long. Board games fail at parties for exactly this reason: too much setup, too much waiting.

Our favorite paper-and-scissors party games

Party bingo. Print a card for each child and call out the words. First to mark four in a row wins a small prize. Works from about age 4 with picture-style words, and stays fun for the older kids because rounds are fast.

Scavenger hunt. A checklist of things to find around the house or garden. It burns energy, gets kids away from the snack table, and the list can match your party theme.

Charades cards. Cut out the prompt cards, fold them, and let each child act one out. Expect a lot of giggling. For mixed ages, let the small kids team up with a parent.

Word scramble. A quiet-time game for when the group needs to calm down before cake. Print one sheet per child and let them race.
